Dance Performance: Unsung, choreographed by DancEthos
Theater Performance: Telling: Baltimore, created by The Telling Project
Dance Place, Washington, DC
On Sunday evening, Dance Place (in northeast Washington, DC, near Catholic University of America) will host theatre and dance performances. The evening will open with excerpts from Telling: Baltimore, a theatre performance created by The Telling Project, which creates opportunities for veterans to speak and their communities to listen. This evening’s Telling: Baltimore – will feature the stories of Erin Byers (Army) and Tracy Miller.
DancEthos will then present Unsung, which tells the story of war from the soldiers’ perspective. Inspired by letters and interviews of soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the work depicts many different aspects of war from tragedy and loss to self sacrifice and the triumph of the human spirit. The performances will be followed by a Q&A with Jonathan Wei, Founder and Executive Director, The Telling Project, and Tiffany Haughn, Artistic Director, DancEthos.
Seating capacity is 160. There is parking available in the neighborhood.
